Access Nova Scotia will be on campus issuing Nova Scotia Identification Cards. Students will need their Nova Scotia ID to enter restaurants, pubs, and any other establishment where government ID is required.

Cost: The Nova Scotia ID costs $17.70. Must pay with debit/credit card (cash is not accepted). The card is valid for 5 years.

Note: Must bring your passport, study permit and SMU student ID.

Service Canada

Service Canada will be on-campus issuing Social Insurance Numbers (SIN)
The Social Insurance Number (SIN) is a nine-digit number that students need to have before they work in Canada or to access to government programs and benefits.

Note: Must bring your passport, study permit and SMU student ID.
